The Beauty Product Lottery
Make up, beautification and skin care they are 3 things I can talk about all day long, that’s why I set up this blog. My mission to find out what’s Officially Hot and what’s not. There are so many products on the market so where do you start the investigation? Lets strip in back to my humble begins I was a spotty teenager who wanted the boys to fancy me, so I first discovered make up and then Clearasil. The Clearasil never really worked out for me but my fascination with beautification began.
Trial and error, reading magazines, listening to what they said on the TV programmes, your friends and peers and later on the internet. All methods of communication some more effective than others. One thing I do know I’m still a sucker for a good infomercial, although my eagerness to get my credit card isn’t so ready. The Sheer Cover campaign saw to that. The product: the first mineral powder foundation I ever used and heard of. The product promised to blend with my skin tone and cover up any uneven skin tone and hyper-pigmentation. I was very disappointed in the results as it made me look like I had just seen a ghost and it didn’t do the trick in terms of its concealer/ cover up benefits. In fact now thinking about it there was a very big hint in the name, how can you expect maximum coverage from a product called Sheer Cover. Despite my recent Sheer Cover epiphany it doesn’t excuse the fact that it didn’t blend with my skin tone and I looked like a ghost.
When buying beauty products it’s a lottery sometimes you win big sometimes, you win small but most of the time you just waste your money. Even when you buy into the most raved about product in the market it doesn’t mean its’ right for you. I’m sure thousands of women are enjoying the benefits of Sheer Cover otherwise they would have gone out of business a long time ago.
