OfficiallyHot.com is Back iFabbo.com is Here

OfficiallyHot.com is back and hotter than ever, partnering with new organisations and brands.

In the last few months OfficiallyHot.com and myself has been on a massive journey of discovery. I have traveled the world to source interesting content and products, acquiring knowledge to develop OfficiallyHot.com a from standard blog site into a website which shares information and opinions on beauty related topics, personal development, and beauty training and education for the blogging community and beauty professionals

This development process has been a learning experience in itself, challenging myself and my working practices, this is an ongoing journey of discovery that has been as much about personal growth as it has been about the growth of OfficiallyHot.com.

Whilst in New York for the International Beauty Show I had the opportunity to meet some amazing people and attended some amazing parties.  I have to thank fellow blogger Courtney Henley- Anderson of www.thatgirlattheparty.com. For totally hooking me up!!  The joinFITE.org event, FITE standing for Financial Independence Through Entrepreneurship. Hosted by founder of Dermalogica Jane Wurwand, stood out for me as the event with the most impact. As I mentioned in the previous post I was totally blown away by the concept and the conviction with which Jane spoke about the global initiative which is an unprecedented partnership between Dermalogica and Kiva.org to provide women worldwide with small loans to start or grow a business. The goal is to help 25,000 women in the next 2 years. It was totally fitting the event was hosted on International Women’s Day. Follow the links for more information or go directly to my original post: My Americas Adventure Part 1 NYC- joinFITE.org http://officiallyhot.com/?p=341

In addition to meeting Jane Wurwand and most of the top US Dermalogica executives I also meet a lady called Sinead Norenius Self tanning expert and Co founder iFabbo.com an international organisation for beauty, fashion and lifestyle bloggers community http://www.ifabbo.com.

Sinead Norenius Co Founder of iFabbo.com and Founder of Beautisol

Sinead encouraged me to join iFabbo as it is free for bloggers to join and the benefits are huge, the organisation promotes the blogging profession, connecting brands to bloggers. http://www.ifabbo.com/blogger-benefits.html.  Hooking up bloggers like me with really cool content and events.

Over the last month iFabbo has launched worldwide with the UK launch date booked for 7th July. The event will be held at The Powder Room Studio and Boutique on Marshall Street just off Carnaby Street, an amazing retro 50’s style venue.

You have to be a member of iFabbo to attend the event and receive a complementary swag bag.  I can’t wait for the event, all I can say is there is some amazing guest speakers booked with some amazing goodies to share with the iFabbo community to follow the link below to sign up and I’ll see you there on the 7th July.

My Americas Adventure Part 1 NYC- joinFITE.org

Some of you may or may not know that I am currently on an Americas Adventure starting in New York City. I landed at JFK airport on Friday 4th March. It started off delightfully with a run-in with a yellow taxi driver because I couldn’t direct him to my sister’s house, which is a 10 minute drive from the airport. Those of you who know me will know that went down like a lead balloon – well it actually went down with me slapping him in the face with my passport (unfortunately I am not talking literally). However now I am writing this piece I feel I should have!

Me in Times Square looking slightly crazy but thought it was fitting after taxi story

Annnnyyyy way, I am here in NY for the International Beauty Show at the Jacob Javits Convention Centre. It has been 3 days of beauty immersion, little sleep and lots of fun.

I’ve created lots of up and coming content for you, but I have to admit being away from home and my usual support network means the content creation process has taken a little longer than expected. Coupled with the fact that I left EVERY USB cable I could have possibly needed at home, sometimes I have my moments! Well I am back on track editing, training with Minx and basically getting myself around town.

The last day of the show was Tuesday 8th and I was talking to a group of ladies just about to head home after a long day. One of the ladies identified herself as a fellow blogger, Courtney Henley- Anderson of www.thatgirlattheparty.com. We had a really interesting conversation and she invited me to an event with her. So I rolled on with a suitcase full of freebie goodies and 2 nights worth of now dirty clothing, as I had been staying in a hotel for the days of the show.

After getting off the train early, going to the wrong venue and waiting ridiculously long for a taxi, we arrived at the Stephan Weiss Studio. The former studio of Donna Karan’s now deceased artist husband Stephan Weiss. Supposed birth place of Donna Karan the brand, and now an events space.

So Courtney and myself climb the huge staircase (minus the suitcase) to the first floor where there was a very intimate gathering of about 30 people.

Jane Wurwand, the founder of Dermalogica was presenting Dermalogica’s new global initiative joinFITE.org. FITE stands for Financial Independence Through Entrepreneurship, an unprecedented partnership between Dermalogica and Kiva.org to provide women worldwide with small loans to start or grow a business. The goal is to help 25,000 women in the next 2 years. All we have to do is to purchase a Dermalogica product with joinFITE.org packaging, go on the web, enter your code and choose the lady you want to benefit. Dermalogica has already pre-paid the cost of the loan, so there is no additional cost to you beyond your purchase.

I was totally blown away by the concept and the conviction with which Jane spoke about the subject and it was totally fitting the event was hosted on International Women’s Day.  So now I give this information to you to spread to word because this is something we should all be talking about. Beauty with an ethical and conscious voice sits really well with me and I want to support this very worthy cause.

Get involved and check out joinFITE.org

I’m not sure if this article does this cause justice so check out the video to truly understand this amazing initiative.
